About Us

The Darknet and Anonymous Research Center (DARC) is a research laboratory funded by the Canada Foundation for Innovation. Launched in 2019, the DARC seeks to be the reference to understanding and explaining the impact of anonymity technologies on the criminal phenomenon in general, and more specifically on the activities of illicit online markets.

It is directed by Prof. David Décary-Hétu from the School of Criminology at the Université de Montréal.
